We want you to have your most beautiful confident smile, and sometimes Veneers and dental bonded materials are the best way to achieve the best result. With extensive dental training, Austin’s Dr. Robin Bethell is able to use minimally invasive dentistry to prepare your teeth for bonded veneers. Let’s first talk about what veneers are.
In dentsitry, a veneer is a thin layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the esthetics of a tooth or to protect a damage to a tooth’s surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer, composite (or plastics) and dental porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated in a dental laboratory, and later bonded to the tooth, typically using a resin cement. A porcelain veneer, however, may only be fabricated in a dental labratory.
Dental veneers are a permanent, and very important decision for you and your family. It is very important that a thorough exam and discussion is completed before considering veneers as an option. Sometimes a more conservative approach can achieve the best cosmetic result, and Dr. Bethell will not lead you wrong.
